Two people have been arrested in misbehaving with journalist of NDTV and PTI in Mumbai train. The two journalists were verbally abused and attacked by the station master of the Trombay railway station and his associate in a local train on Saturday night. The police has lodged an FIR. The culprits have been arrested and departmental inquiry will be done on them.

This is good as someone who misbehaves need to be punished. But the point is that since they were from media, action was quick. Am not sure what would have happened if they were not from media ? They could have suffered and remained silent like many of us who suffer every day in these trains.

The ones who suffer are not only women, but include men. Sometimes you feel weak, or they are in numbers or don’t have courage or one does not want to get into trouble and hence remain silent. It is good that these two journalist spoke and action took place. May be since they had suffered, may be do a story, and raise this issue, hopefully will help hundreds.
